I'm already here just outside Edmonton getting ready for this weeks National at Castrol Raceway. The Nanaimo National went alright but I'm disapointed with the second moto result. As you may already know the Wastelands is not a track I like but its the same for everyone. Let me start with the first moto where I got caught up in the first turn with riders going down. After getting through that I came around in 15th position at the end of the first lap and put my head down and started to charge and try to pick as many riders off as quickly as possible. By mid moto I had came through the pack up to around 7th spot i was then able to get past Gibson for 6th and then set about catching Nelson. I finally realed Nelson in and passed him for 5th three laps from the end and thats where I finished which I was pretty happy with after the start I got.
The second moto started out alot better with me finishing the openning lap in 9th and I was able to move up to 7th by the end of lap two. I was behind Morgan at this point and I was into a good rythym running strong. By lap six I had caught Nelson and was able to pass him for 6th, then two laps later I stalled the bike in a corner and had trouble getting it started. This dropped me back down the field to around 11th right behind Klatt. I was able to get up past Klatt to 8th spot and was running strong for the next three laps or so and catching the 7th place rider. I then had a bobble and Klatt was able to get past and get a gap on me which left me in 9th and thats where I ended up finishing. That was dissapointing considering I had got it up to 6th at one stage early in the moto and felt good.
With the 5/9 moto results I have dropped two spots in the standings to 7th although I'm only 1pt out of 5th. This week in Edmonton I will be looking to have good results and move back up in the standings.
I'm just relaxing this afternoon after a good practice session this morning where I'm staying and I will do my normal stuff this week building up to the National at the weekend. Thats about it for now hope you enjoyed catching up withme and I will post again on my blog after the Edmonton National.
