Well I finally had the weekend I had been aiming for last weekend in Nanaimo. I ended up only racing the 450 again, and I was glad I did. Below are my results...read on for the full story.
MX1 (17-17), 17th overall
It was a great week all around, from visiting my cousin in Victoria and swimming in the ocean, catching crabs, rope swinging, visiting some friends in Campbell River, seeing the massive 800 year old trees in Port Alburni, and going for some really nice runs thru trails around the island. The only downside of BC were the tracks! They're all SO HARD and rocky. That said, I did minimal riding last week but it was a nice break.
The racing...
I ended up qualifying 25th on the 450. In moto 1 I had a good jump off the gate but then got tangled in the first turn. I didn't go down but I ran into another bike and had to back up to get around him. I just rode a steady pace throughout the moto though and a lot of guys seemed to fade near the end and I wound up 17th. I was stoked to finally get some points! In moto 2 my start wasn't very good either. I rounded lap 1 in 24th and eventually worked up to 17th. I was trying to pass for 16th and lost the front end in a corner. Luckily the bike staying running and I remounted quickly and managed to get back up to 17th. So I ended up getting 17th overall which is my best national finish ever so far! In fact, it's the first time I've finished inside the Top 20 overall in either class. It was a really fun day with my girlfriend, my cousin, and his girlfriend all pitting for me. Unfortunately, my co-pilot on the trip, Chris Colenutt crashed in the whoops on the last lap of the first MX2 moto while running 22nd and dislocated his wrist. He's got it casted up and is having it operated on when he gets home. Nonetheless, he's in good spirits and plans on being my riding coach for the next week.
We spent Monday touring the island a bit and did a night race tonight in Mission, BC. It was fun and good practice. I think I went 4-5 in the pro class. Tomorrow we're driving to Calgary, where I'll ride Thursday, and then off to Edmonton Friday for the last West round before heading home.
Until next time, thanks to everyone for all the support. Hopefully I can keep the ball rolling this weekend and get some more points!

P.S. I will be sending out pictures once I get home and get the best ones picked out. In the meantime, Lindsey has hundreds already posted on facebook if you're interested in looking.
