United We Ride at FreelinMX
The November 2 & 3rd races started a new tradition at FreelinMX (Marlette, MI USA), the Can-Am Invitational. This new challenge allowed our district racers to test their skills and techniques against their Canadian counterparts.
One of our largest classes is always the 65s. Sunday's race did not disappoint. There were 26 entries, with more than a few from Canada. The top 5 places in moto 1 were Danny Armstrong #205 from Ontario in 1st, Jarett Pesci #904 out of Utica in 2nd, Johnathan Burt #42 in 3rd, Richard Grey #194 in 4th, and Jesse Pearce #206X in 5th, all from Ontario.
The 2nd moto held a lot of action. Danny Armstrong pulled out the holeshot. Close behind were Burt, Pesci and Dan Pilon (Canada). Soon after Pilon passed Pesci right after the big double. It wasn't long before they switched places again in the straight away, this time with Pesci in the lead. Those two continued to battle throughout the rest of the moto. Without a doubt, our Canadian friends have set the challenge for the 2003 invitational next November.
Although winter weather approached early on Saturday, temperatures warmed up considerably on Sunday. This created an exciting atmosphere at the track. All of the races were well run and every rider did a great job.
FreelinMX thanks all riders, families and spectators. An exceptionally big thank you to all of our track help. We are lucky to have our track officials Ron Paulsell and Cathy Heisler. Without them our race events would never have gone so smoothly. We look forward to an exciting 2003 season with new additions and plenty of fun filled events.
